Hapoo

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Do I need to create an account?+

No. Hapoo has no account and no sign-in. Everything is tied to your device instead, so there's nothing to remember and nothing to lose if you switch phones without transferring first.

Does it run GPS all day?+

No. Walks are counted from your phone's motion sensor, not GPS. GPS switches on only when you explicitly ask for a traced route — the rest of the day costs practically nothing in battery.

Will it see my past walks, or start me from zero?+

On first launch, Hapoo reads your existing walking history from Apple Health, so it opens on the streak you'd already earned rather than pretending you've done nothing.

Is it free?+

Yes. Walks, streaks, levels, the characters and weekly leagues are all free, and so are 30 coach messages a month. Hapoo+ is the optional subscription for more of the coach, plus reminder notifications.

How much is Hapoo+?+

£4.99 a month, or £49.99 a year. The first 1,000 subscribers can have Founding 1000 instead: £24.99 a year, with that price locked for as long as they stay subscribed. It's bought and cancelled through your Apple Account, like any other App Store subscription.

What happens if I miss a day?+

Your streak decays gradually rather than resetting to zero outright, and a Streak Shield (earned with points) can cover a missed day completely. Rest days where you still show up, even briefly, count on their own terms.

Does it give veterinary advice?+

No, and it's deliberate. The coach refuses health questions outright — anything about your dog's health should go to your vet, not an app.

Is my dog's data sold or shared?+

No. There are no ads and no data resale. See the full Privacy page for exactly what the server does and doesn't see.

What phones does it work on?+

iPhone, running a recent iOS version, with an optional companion watchOS app. It isn't available for Android.

When is it on the App Store?+

It's still in development. Join the waitlist on the home page to hear the moment it's live.
